10 o' Clock Hour. Please join Diana Bell, M.Div. in the Thurman Room for 10 o'Clock Bible study on Isaiah.

Many Mansions: immediately following worship service: Extend your conversations to a deeper level. Plan now to stay for an hour after church for a Sacred Conversation sponsored by Many Mansions. Here's not only a chance for a bowl of homemade soup, but some thoughtful conversation. Diverse opinions welcomed, deep listening required.

Young Women's Bible Study and Justice Focus Group meets after church. See below for details.

BACK TO SCHOOL PIZZA PARTY from 5 to 7 p.m., we will have a Back-to-School pizza party for all the Sunday School families. At that time, we will explain the 2009-2010 Sunday School curriculum and goals. There are lots of exciting new goals the committee has been working on with the session for this year! We will also distribute t-shirts to our Sunday School children. Please come and bring the kids. Children will be tie-dying their t-shirts with the youth leaders at the same time. Sign up with Rev. Beth.

Other news:

Great Expectations: Rev. Beth would like to share the news of her pregnancy. Please keep her and her family in your prayers as they prepare for and await the new addition at the end of March 2010. The session is finalizing details with the presbytery for a new interim minister to arrive at the end of October. We will update you as soon as we can.

Sunday School Director: The Children's Ministry Committee and Session are looking to fill a 10-hour a week position to give more structure and guidance to our Sunday morning program. Please contact
Bethfpc@aol.com if you know of someone or a resource for good candidates with a strong background in teaching and crafts.

Young Women Bible Study and Justice Focus Group

If you are between the ages of 18-early 30's, you are invited to attend this group which will be trying out and evaluating a curriculum currently in development by the National Council of Churches, meant to explore the connections of faith and advocacy through the issue of obstetric fistula. The age restriction is firm because this curriculum is being developed for campus ministries and young adult groups. The group will meet after church for an hour and a half on Sept. 27, Oct. 11, and 25. Please contact Meagan Manas at mmanas@ncccusa.org if you would like to attend or need more information!

Register for Sunday School: If you did not register yet, please download the attached sheets and sign up your children. Please also consider teaching for 5 Sundays in our co-operative program. Contact bethfpc@aol.com with questions. You may fax the forms back to the church at (718) 624- 3365.
