Title: Sent with Power
Focus passage: Mark 6:1-23

The scripture readings this week invite us to live in the fullness of God's powerful and loving presence. As Jesus prepared the disciples and sent them out to carry his teaching and ministry to neighboring villages, we too are called and "sent with power" by God's Spirit.  This week think about your own call to ministry. How have you given expression to the Spirit's call in your life? What makes it possible for you to hear and proclaim the gospel? Reflect on the following blessing litany: "O God...send us with your power. Help us hear your call to live with grace and hope...Help us to follow paths of justice and love...Give us courage for the journey. Amen."

No July Women's Monthly Potluck: The Women's Potluck will resume in August. If you need more information please call the church office or email fpc124@aol.com

A survey will be e-mailed to all congregants whose addresses are in our file. All others are encouraged to complete the survey and hand it in after the service or mail it to us...or provide us with their e-mail address.

Our task will be completed by the end of July, so please make an effort to communicate your views to us. Thanks much, Richard Greene, Jr., Jane Quinn, Co-Chairs

Paul Mowry led "Particular Theological Issues in the Process of Calling a Pastor," the final installment in a four-part series, "Searching for a Pastor the Presbyterian Way."  Paul reminded us that. "We are the culmination to date of God's consistent work of calling and shaping a faithful people… As children of God, you are direct descendents of all the faithful who fought and suffered and worshipped for thousands of years before we were ever born.  We are not only connected to this ancient heritage: You are an instrument of God continuing the heritage."
