On August 24 at 10 a.m., Interim Pastor Rev. Cari Jackson will be preaching a sermon titled "You Reap What You Sow."  "Worship bags" will be available on loan during worship service for young children. The nursery will be open from 9 a.m. to noon with Patty and Cristina.

Midweek Boost

Resumes on Wednesday, Sept 10th, at 7.00pm, with a viewing and discussion of the documentary movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" that looks at the reality and mystery of life through the perspectives of quantum physics. Meets in the Church Manse at 128 Henry Street. Open to all.

 

Homecoming Sunday

Children's Church & Sunday School

Communicating with Children.

Sundays, beginning Sept 14 (six weeks) at 5.30p.m.

Learn more how to communicate with children (and adults) in ways that foster mutual respect and healthy bonds. The discussion group will use the celebrated work "How to Talk so Kids Will Listen (and Listen so Kids Will Talk)" and provide a confidential space to share parenting and mentoring challenges to develop concrete skills to relate more effectively with children. Women's Ministry Retreat.

Save the date, Saturday Oct. 25th. The theme: "Learning to Live with Your Power: Painful or Joy-filled." Cuba Mission—White Rose Ministry

 Special thanks to Sonia Wilson for her great article "Local Presbyterians help Cuba church" (Caribbean Life newspaper, 08/13/08) that features our church ministry in Cuba. This past year, we have strengthened our support to our sister church, LaFernanda Church in Havana, especially to help provide meals to senior citizens. Thanks to Emily Thomas for her dedication to leading our White Rose (breathes of love) Cuba ministry. Copies of the article are available in the narthex. New Parents' Group
